It just so happens that we sometimes don’t feel right without any apparent reason. One day you feel mentally sharp, and on the other day, you don’t. Frustrating. Right? In this article, I go through 2 energy healing techniques and explain how each one works to provide you with mental and physical balance.
Energy healing is a branch of alternative medicine methods in which various types of energy are used to treat multiple medical conditions, especially alignments related to mental health.

2.2 What Is Aura and How a Pranic Healer Uses It to Balance Your Mind?
Developed by Mikao Usui in the 20th century, this energy healing is based on the belief that energy should be free and flows freely in everyone’s body. Therefore, a person’s body or mind is in a positive state as long as the energy is intense and there are no obstacles in its way. Conversely, once the energy is weak or blocked, you can expect physical or emotional imbalance.
So, a Reiki practitioner’s job is to ensure a smooth flow of energy in your body by removing the energy blocks. Most Reiki practitioners offer it by placing their hands on a series of body parts like the head, front, and back of the torso. However, some practitioners don’t touch your body at all. Instead, their hands hover a few inches above your body.
When we keep clinging to past mistakes or keep worrying about the future, it is natural for our minds to be preoccupied with endless thoughts. Reiki lets the receiver live in the present moment and trust life’s unfolding journey. It also helps you to have positive reactions to everything and everyone in your surrounding.
Developed by Chinese-Filipino spiritual grandmaster Choa Kon Sui, this no-touch alternative therapy is based on the belief that the human body has the innate ability to repair itself. In addition to self-recovery, pranic healing is based on another principle that lies in the word “prana” itself. In Sanskrit, prana means lifeforce. Thus, the body can recover only if it has lifeforce or prana in this energy healing system.
If you think that pranic healing is just like Reiki, you are not alone. Both systems believe in the human body’s self-healing capacity. However, they are different in how they enhance this ability. While Reiki focuses on removing the energy blocks, the practitioner removes the negative energy stored in the body or aura in pranic healing. I know you are asking what do I exactly mean by the word “aura”?
Well, an aura is an electromagnetic field that surrounds our physical bodies. The first thing a pranic healer does is scan your aura to identify the areas of your body that need more attention. During scanning, the pranic healer locates energy depletion or congestion areas that need more attention and focus. This is so because stress and anxiety, which puts a burden on our nervous systems, are first manifest in our auras and then appear in our physical bodies in the forms of diseases and illnesses.
After the scanning, the pranic healer gets the signal on which organ, muscle, or limb to focus. It is believed that the sun, air, and ground are the sources of prana, and a prana healer projects that lifeforce into her patient’s aura. In other words, she reactivates the energy flow in your body by plugging all areas of your body back together.
Both Reiki and pranic healing are fantastic in modifying energy imbalances and blockages. They, however, differed in healing methodology and mentioned above.
If you deal with daily stress and anxiety that has disrupted your life and wonder which energy healing method you should go for, your best option is to consult with an energy healer proficient in both.
